VXHQ - Sinician Countess Patrol Cruiser

Vince T's X-Wing HQ

I still have to come up with a full background for this one...

The Countess (Formally labeled 'Cerberus') is a small cruiser used to patrolling across Sinician controlle territory. Moderately armed and able to carry half a squadron of starfighter is maily used for peacekeeping rather than full scale warfare.

This model is somewhat representative for the people of Sinix, sporting the traditional pale red paintjob found on many Sinician vessels.

VXHQ - Centurion-Class Assault Transport

Vince T's X-Wing HQ

Starting off as a very old model I almost purged this one. Starting off as some sort of Advanced Gunboat I even imported it into optech some 5 years ago or so, but soon felt it too smalol. FOr a long time it went unter the working title Omega-class Shuttle until just recently when I fleshed out the interior and rediscovered my love for this one. Now, finally, I've taken it a step further. With the recently released GT-5000 Series plus the Delta TX-1 and Battlemaiden still in the works I'm having a series of medium sized transport coming together, each somewhat distinguishable by design. So, this one I renamed Centurion and made it the GT-series' pendant as Assault Transport in the Cophuranee Navy, falling in line with ships like the XT-100 Viper, the Patriot Frigate and the Inferno and Praetorian cruisers.

The Centurion is a bulky and heavily armored assault transport capable to transport and deploy half a battalion of troops in enemy territory. Whereas the Shicon's GT-series' focus lies in high velocity and in parts stealth engagement, the Centurion is designed to punch through anything that is thrown at it. While its extensive offensive and defensive weaponry deal out large amounts of damage, powerful shields and armor plating allow it to withstand severe punishment.

VXHQ - FX-40 Intrepid-class Frigate

Vince T's X-Wing HQ

I grew kinda fond of the overall way of designs I went with ships like the CSX-600 or the GT-5000, thus decided to push things up a notch, entering the realms 'true' capital ships.

The FX-40, constructed by ShiCon Dynamics, is the Company's entrance into the frigate class. Like its smaller brethren it's far more agile and faster than most other ships of its class, while therefore less heaily armed.

So far I'm still pondering whether or not to add a hangar.

VXHQ - Delta TX-1 Prototype

Vince T's X-Wing HQ

This is another of those models I made, based one a very old sketch I made. I think the original sketch was supposed some design for the later SBCR Warrior but went a totally different direction. So now here it is. A yacht.

The Delta TX-1 is a prototype vessel combining luxury standards and combat-worthiness. About 70 meters in length it offers a high level of comfort while parallelly packing quite a massive punch. Like some other ESS ships the Delta TX-1 combines standard military designs with the sleek and organic elegance of Dhilani vessels.

Background-wise I'll follow Squarehead's suggestion of this being the personal Yacht of ESS Emperor Vince Trageton. Going a bit further I'll have him name this ship after his daughter: Kyaara.

VXHQ - PS-42 Armadillo

Vince T's X-Wing HQ

The Armadillo is a heavy gunship of approx. 80m length. A small flying fortress, large enough to carry a small strike force and enough firepower and adequate armoring to hold its ground against superior opposition, making up for its less than average speed and maneuverability.

Labeled a Gunship it can well serve as a mobile command center in situations or locations less suitable for capital ships.

VXHQ - Banshee R22 Gunship

Vince T's X-Wing HQ

Constructed as troop transport for police and security forces the R22 was designed to perform well especially in strongly populated urban areas of Khetaris' megatropolis. To achieve this, Chicono Engineering designed the vessel's thrusters to rotate freely and independently around the ship's X-axis, which allows for very quick turns, stops and evasions.

Although commissioned by the Khetarian government, the transport soon found its way to corporate militia and organized mercenary groups.

VXHQ - XI-40 Victory Interceptor

Vince T's X-Wing HQ

The Victory is a carrier-based Interceptor designed for short range escort and patroll duties.

In hindsight many consider the Victory to be the one bad spot in ShiCon's otherwise near perfect portfolio. Although small and fast many of the design choices made by the constructors to facilitate mass production of large numbers at the expense of structural integrity were regarded as most disadvantageous and reason for the utter flop of this series. As a result mass production was ceased after only a few hundred instances were produced.

Still it might have been this near catastrophic miscalculation which caused the succeeding Victory Mk2 to turn out the success that it was.

2011-06-21: Rough base model finished, derived from Victory Mk2 + Dhilani Engines.

VXHQ - X4 Mosquito

Vince T's X-Wing HQ

The small Mosquito is a carrier based short range fighter used mainly by Khetarian Coroporations and private militia to provide escort to freight convoys. The vessel is by far the smallest of its class, packing the combat-worthiness of a snubfighter into a frame barely larger than a hoverspeeder.

Its modular rotary thrusters allow the Mosquito to almost instantly change direction or perform strafing runs while maintaining its course. Armed with only a pair of plasma blasters due to official regulations the Mosquito is yet often found to carry aftermarket missile upgrades.

VXHQ - FC-60 Triton-class Support Ship

Vince T's X-Wing HQ

The Triton is somewhat the Bridge between the light FX-40 Frigate and the much larger Phoenix Cruiser, both size-wise as well as regarding its design. Roughly 500m in length and featuring large cargo holds and hangar bays the Triton's role is that of a support ship, kind of like a light carrier or armed heavy freighter.

I came up with this design after fidgeting around with the model of the FX-40. With each iteration it grew bigger and somewhat bulkier to match the purpose I had in mind for it.

VXHQ - Ascension-class Assault Cruiser

Vince T's X-Wing HQ

The Ascension is a heavy cruiser and carrier, sporting massive weaponry and extensive hangar space to host a large number of starfighters, bombers and gunships.

It's been first UPMF-commissioned warship after almost twenty years of stagnation. Granting the UPA their individual traits and designs the ESS leadership provided the resources and technical know-how in order to upgrade the slightly worn UPMF fleet. Looking back on the success of both the Warrior- and Phoenix-class UPMF cruisers, R&D under junior chief designer Cay Montarin created a heavy cruiser bridging the gap between the two aforementioned.

Its size and power along with state-of-the-art technology make the Ascension a formidable warship capable of standing its ground within a quickly growing galaxy.

VXHQ - The Mirage

Vince T's X-Wing HQ

The model was actually a result from the most recent WIP image of the Traquia, where I suddenly noticed an effect I hadn't seen before - and which I kinda liked that much that I wanted to exploit it without having to rebuild the Traquia again and also, transport it onto a smaller ship. Thus emerged the Mirage.

Originally I had it named Medusa due to the snake-like bridge modules on top. However, I wouldn't figure out what to do with it actually. Just recently I remember a pretty old concept of mine, roing back to pre-TBP days - as well as a concept Dragon used at the very sart of the recent battle thread. Thus came the new name: Mirage

Timewise I picture the Medusa somewhat around the time that the Ascension was built, a bit later maybe.

Sizewise it's pretty small, 1.38 km, which is a tenth of the Traquia's size. It's more or less a unique vessel, a medium cruiser, focussed on general combat. Based off the Traquia's design the Mirage is equipped with a series of mass generators and high performance holo projectors that enable it to create an exact mirror image of the actual Traquia around itself, thus the name Mirage.

VXHQ - Sinician Empress-class Dreadnought

Vince T's X-Wing HQ

The massive Empress-class was designed and built after the fatal failure of losing the Inferno II to the renegade Task Force Warrior. The hige dreadnought measures almost three kilometers from bow to stern andwas built under joined efforts by Sinician, Khetarian and Briceran engineers and also incorporating advanced technology from captured Cophuranee and Dhilani vessels. In hindsight building this ship was considered by many to have been an act of desparation.

Unlike other super dreadnoughts like the SBCR Warrior, whose construction had taken seven years for the sake of thoroughness and quality, the Empress' construction had been rushed through a critical 11 months, which resulted in numerous technical flaws like system failures and integrity disruptions upon launch, which resulted in the Empress never being actively deployed in a combat situation and instead stationed as guardian above the Sinican homeworld, a sad reminder of the UPMF's greatest failure.
