Capital Ships

Vanguard-Class Frigate

Vanguard-class Frigate

The Vanguard is a medium-sized Frigate for escort and patrol duties. While mainly designed as an anti-fighter/bomber support vessel a small number of heavier weapon emplacements allow it to stand against smaller capital ships as well.

The Vanguard is mainly dispatched within wild and / or unsecured sectors to serve as both protection for trade convoys as well as patrol as long range patrols and peacekeeping.

Sovereign-Class Battlecruiser

Sovereign-Class Battlecruiser

The sovereign is the first of a new class of heavy ESS battlecruisers. Derrived from the successful Dominance-class the Sovereign has shifted its focus from holding capacity to combatability, moving closer to the role of a battleship, rather than a fleet carrier.

The huge ventral docking complex, which made up a large portion of its predecessorís bow section, has been removed and replaced by a solid and fully armored bow like other battlecruisers and dreadnaughts of this design, leaving only a couple of smaller launch bays along the bow's center line. Along with the increased armor and weaponry the installation of a pair of fusion cannons provides a considerable boost in firepower.

Predator-Class Star Destroyer

Predator-Class Star Destroyere

The Predator was the ESS' first line-produced star destroyer to create the backbone of royal fleet. With a length of over two kilometers the Predator clearly surpasses its imperial cousin, the Imperator I and II-class in both size and sheer power.

Although Star Destroyer is commonly used for this ship, the correct description would be Carrier / Destroyer. Along with the characteristic ventral hangar bay The Predator features a number of launch tubes on its bottom side to allow increased speed and and efficiency in fighter deployment. Additionally, four lateral hangar bays, inspired by early predecessors like the Venator- and Valliant-classes.

From a combat point view the Predator is designed mainly for ship-to-ship engagements with other capital ships. Besides its countless weapon emplacements on the surface and the brim trench the Predator carries 31 heavy quad batteries designed for both frontal and broadside combat.

Like its bigger cousins, the Warhammer and Dominance, the Predator was developed as a ESS and CE R&D project and finally was integrated into both Empires' fleets.

Dominance-Class Battlecruiser

Dominance-Class Battlecruiser

The huge Dominance-Class Battlecruiser, like the Warhammer, is the product of collaboration between the Corellian Empire and the ESS. Designed and constructed shortly after the foundation of the ESS it takes design elements of classical imperial ships like the old Vengeance- and Venator-class combined with high-end ESS weapons and shield technology. These elements make it the ultimate next generation warship combining the roles of command ship, carrier and destroyer.

The two huge hangar bays can hold ships up to medium cruiser size and offer space for a large number of ships and fighter squadrons. Also, the huge forward bay array can act as dock for ships up to Victory-class size.

Like the Warhammer, the Dominance is equipped with the new omega array technology to augment the firepower of normal weapon emplacements to an near super weapon-like level.

Warhammer-Class Heavy Cruiser

Warhammer-Class Heavy Cruiser

The Warhammer-Class Heavy Cruiser introduces a new generation of heavy warships that make the link between normal and super-heavy battleships. Almost six kilometers in length the Warhammer is superior to any common destroyers and cruisers, while state-of-the-art propulsion systems enable it to easily outmaneuver super-class ships.

The Warhammer has its origins in a collaboration project by Kuat Drive Yards and starship developers of the Empire of the Seven Suns and finally joined the ESS forces.

WIP: Inquisitor-class Battlecruiser

Inquisitor-class Battlecruiser

The Inquisitor's design is by far the oldest Star Destroyer design I've made, in fact one of my earliest starship designs in general. Ironically this was actually the very first design for the SBCR Warrior, before moving away from Star Wars-themed ships and creating my own style. For this new model I combined two old designs - the upper city's design is based on the aforementioned early Warrior, the lower side I developed on a different design which has remained unnamed by today.

Originally this one would be about 20km long, but for the model I decided to drastically scale it down until now it's about 7-8 km in length. Still bigger than the Warhammer as it's shape would suggest but yet clearly smaller than the Dominance or Sovereign.

So what's up with this thing? Something nasty. While not too clearly visible right now the Inquisitor has a total of six vertical thrusters, somewhat reminiscent to the dreadded World Devastators from the Dark Empire storyline - only far bigger, obviously. I'm not sure yet whether or not I'll keep those or remove them, all in all the model is yet in quite an early stage but still I felt it's time to reveal it.

Transports & Freighters

Normandy SR2

Normand SR2

This is the Normandy SR2, the famed Frigate commanded by Commander Shepard in Bioware's Mass Effect 2 (tm). For further description, Iíll quote the ME2 Codex Entry:

With elaborate secrecy, Cerberus labored for years to build a new, superior Normandy. The vehicle's many alterations required a craft nearly double the original size, requiring an even larger Tantalus drive core to compensate.

The new Normandy features greater space in living quarters, research laboratory, observation deck, and cargo bay. Its shuttle can attempt to make landings the Normandy cannot attempt. In addition to tightbeam communications, Normandy's Quantium Entanglement Communicator (QEC) provides an instantaneous contact with the Illusive Man. The Enhanced Defense functions, assisting and even supplanting human piloting. (...)

Note: Although the Normandy is classified as frigate, I have set this ship to be a transport rather than a capitalship. Reason for this is that ships in Mass Effect behave differently than in X-Wing Alliance thus, from a gameplay POV, being a transport is more close to how the original Normandy performs.

TIE Reaper

TIE Reaper

The TIE Reaper is a heavy Assault Fighter developed around 12 ABY. Heavily armed and with strong shields itís fit to both dish out large amounts of damage while being able to shrug off a lot of damage punishment and accomplish its goals even under heavy fire.

The TIE Reaper sports a quartet of powerful laser cannons on the tips of its four wings plus a pair of Ion blasters to disable its targets. A pair of multi-barreled launchers can carry a payload of up to 6 warheads each. Its massive firepower, combined with a quartet of ion engines that boosts the Reaper up to 120 MGLT for fast attack runs make it a formidable weapon against larger targets such as capital ships.

Different from other TIE designs the Reaperís interior is constructed to offer its pilot adequate space and carry sufficient supplies to support long distance flights and carrier-independent deployment far off the respective home base.

Hosted: TIE Archer

TIE Archer

From the author's readme:

Designed to take on smaller enemy capital ships when an Imperial cruiser is unavailable, the TIE Archer was one of the Empireís more successful answers to the New Republicís B-wing heavy bomber. The Archer is heavily armed, lightning fast and is equipped with both a shield system and a hyperdrive. Of course, such performance comes at a cost. The Archer is extremely expensive to build and maintain, and uses parts that are not common among other TIE variants. Most fleets can only afford to keep a single squadron of Archers running at any one time. The Archer is also notoriously difficult to handle and is usually reserved only for those pilots who have survived a tour of duty in both the TIE Interceptor and TIE Defender, or who show an inherent aptitude for combat. Unlike most TIEs in the Imperial fleet, the Archer is a two-man fighter with a pilot and a navigational officer seated in separate pods within the Archerís elongated cockpit. In an emergency, however, the Archer can be operated by a single pilot. The large solar panel to the rear of the cockpit appends those on the wings, allowing the collection of more usable solar energy needed to produce the Archerís high performance rating.

TIE Vampire & TIE Vampire Mk2

TIE Vampire Mk2

The TIE Vampire is the first ship that was built in collaboration between Sienar Fleet Systems and the relatively young company ShiCon Dynamics.

Fast, agile and well balanced it is an excellent multi-role fighter. Due to its high costs, it's only reserved for the best fighter squadrons and thus has gained the reputation of being an elite fighter.

The TIE Vampire MkII is an advanced version of the TIE Vampire which is fitted with a new prototype of stealth plating known by the codename "cold skin".

Like the fictional vampire creatures that has neither measurable body temperature nor a reflection, this new technology hides the ship from both visual and biothermical scanners.

Imperial Star Destroyer Hangar

This is an imperial style hangar that replaces the default rebel one, so you get a real imperial feeling! Featured is also the enourmous outer docking bay as well as catwalks and TIE Fighter racks on the ceiling. This hangar is a few times bigger than the original version in order to match the size of Darksaber's upgraded Lambda Shuttle.

Apart from the hangar itself, both the DS2 and the Imperial Hangar come with a bunch of extras, which will replace the numerous items in the hangar with more stylish things. You can alsochoose between an AT-ST or a pair of Turbolasers to replace the standard rebel workstand.
